"Jesus Christ Superstar" - Judas kissing Mary Magdalene - Bad Vilbel
... this picture was taken from nearly 50 meters away during the last show of "jesus christ superstar" in bad vilbel, (near frankfurt) germany on 2007-09-07...
judas kisses mary magdalene, after he sees her kissing jesus, to show his idol, what kind of a woman (a whore) she is. just this situation and jesus "non-reaction" leads to his betrayal...
i just did some postworking on the contrasts, the shadowing and the lights - and of course made it b/w...
it was actually really funny. i knew the play by heart - having been there as 2nd assistant director and having been at all rehearsals... and i was talking to a stage-technician when remembering - "oh shit you wanted to shoot the kiss" - so i ran back in position, from where i was allowed to photograph and came there about 3 seconds before they kissed. just got lucky i would say.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
